sleep learning
topic of sleep learning is really fascinating because it’ll be great to learn something without putting any effort in it.
on biology lessons i have learnt that during the sleep brain is completely cut off from reality. That our consciousness is somewhere else, so from my own knowledge I concluded that it is not posible to learn during the sleep but scientists proved that brain reacts to information around it.
first experiment which prove it was about presenting people who wanted to quit smoking unpleasant smell of fish with smell of tabacco. those people reduce consumption of tabacco by 35%.
other scientists prepared experiment called: “learning the meaning of Japanese words while asleep”. They show people photo and sound of dog while they were awake. when they were sleeping scientist played them barking sound along with the word “inu” meaning “dog”. next morning people were asked to match image to word in Japanese and they were able to do it.
for now this type of learning is not useful but maybe in the future people will find out how to make it practical
Even if you could just learn words in a foreign language, it wouldn't be too bad.
